What you’ll study
The curriculum covers a wide range of topics essential for tour operation and travel agency management, such as packages, tour costings, and customer services, professional techniques, and social anthropology, wildlife knowledge, and touristic geography, car rentals, and shuttle services.
This course must be taken alongside Computer studies and one of the following languages: English, French, or German (at the Arusha Campuses), which are compulsory.
Entry Requirements
To enroll in the Basic Certificate in Tour Operation and Travel Agency Management, applicants must have a Secondary Education Certificate (Form Four) with atleast Division 4 .
Proficiency in English is required, and supporting documents such as academic certificates, a birth certificate or national ID, and two passport-sized photos must be submitted.
Assessment
The majority of classes involve a final unseen exam, which is normally at the end of the semester. This is typically supplemented by individual and/or group coursework.
Students normally have one opportunity to be re-assessed for a failed class. Exam resits usually take place during the summer.
