What you’ll study

This course offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare you for a successful career in food and beverage operations. Covering key areas such as food and beverage service techniques, menu planning, customer service, sales strategies, and hospitality standards, the program combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on skills.

This course must be taken alongside Computer Studies and one of the following languages—English, French, or German —which are compulsory to enhance both technical and communication skills for global employability.

Entry Requirements

To enroll in the Basic Certificate in Food & Beverage Sales and Services, applicants must have a Secondary Education Certificate (Form Four) or equivalent with at least three D passes in any subjects.

Proficiency in English is required. Applicants must also submit supporting documents, including academic certificates, a birth certificate or national ID, and two passport-sized photos.

Assessment

Most classes are assessed through a final unseen exam, typically held at the end of the semester. This is complemented by individual and/or group coursework to evaluate both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Students who fail a class usually have one opportunity for re-assessment, with exam resits typically scheduled during the summer.
